Desde hace un tiempo Veeam B&R 6.0 (ahora 6.1)\u00a0 realiza backup de mis VMs pero el status es WARNING, algo que descuide por simplemente pensar que es un \u201cLAB\u201d. Imag\u00ednese, tener backups que terminan en WARNING, no se lee nada bien\u2026<\/p>\n

Decid\u00ed investigar, en el reporte de B&R (mi abreviaci\u00f3n para Backup & Replication) aparece el 40% de la soluci\u00f3n al problema, all\u00ed aparece un mensaje que dice \u201cCannot use CBT: Soap fault. Error caused by file \/vmfs\/volumes\/4f6bef3f-f50a8e32-dad1-8c89a564bb07\/vGabi\/vGabi.vmdkDetail: \u00bb, endpoint: \u00bb. <\/em>Desde que vi CBT en el mensaje supe que era un problema con la VM directamente, as\u00ed que el siguiente paso era revisar los logs de esa VM en vSphere. Lo extra\u00f1o era que en el vSphere no tenia ning\u00fan error en Tasks & Events.<\/p>\n

Pero, con simplemente haciendo una b\u00fasqueda \u201cCannot use CBT: Soap fault.\u201d El primer link es del KB de Veeam y all\u00ed tenemos la soluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Problem:<\/strong>VMware is having trouble getting change block tracking\u00a0to work\u00a0correctly on some of the disks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following steps will\u00a0reset CBT on the guest VM:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Power off the VM
\n2.\u00a0 Right click the VM, click \u00abEdit settings\u00bb, find the \u00abOptions\u00bb tab and\u00a0click \u00abConfiguration Parameters\u00bb<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Set the \u00abctkEnabled\u00bb value to false
\n4.\u00a0 Set the \u00abscsi0:x.ctkEnabled\u00bb value to false for each disk of the VM in question<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0Open the source folder and remove any -CTK.VMDK files.
\n6.\u00a0\u00a0Power on the VM
\n7. \u00a0Power off the VM again.\u00a0\u00a0This step is needed to update the CTK table.
\n8. \u00a0Power on the VM
\n9.\u00a0 Rerun Backup or Replication job to re-enable CBT<\/p>\n
