Their product is a web app which uses a small virtual appliance to collect data from your vSphere environment, which they present back to you via a web portal with big data analytics and analysis. Reading this you might ask, has no one has done this before? The answer is yes, but the difference here (from what I can see) is the way used to present the collected data to us, the vSphere Administrators.<\/p>\n<p>CloudPhysics is using focused, purpose-designed Cards to show us the state of our environment. For example: How many VM needs a VMtools update? There is a card for that!!<\/p>\n<p>The interesting part about CloudPhysics is their founders. They include ex-VMware engineers who created features like Storage IO Control, Storage DRS, and other vSphere technologies we love so much. Right now they are in beta and I hope that when they launch officially, they continue to support vSphere lab environments. Can you imagine the coolness of being able to monitor your lab from anywhere with a browser? Priceless!!<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t wait any longer to start playing with CloudPhysics. Just go to their website, register and download either the OVF or OVA virtual appliance. It installs into your vSphere environment and collects the information that is used in the CloudPhysics portal. Right now only vSphere is supported, but there is not yet supported for stand-alone (unmanaged) ESXi. I hope that is in the next update of the vApp since not all of us have vSphere licences to play with.<\/p>\n<p>One more thing, CloudPhysics is running a contest with 3 prizes for those who create Cards that challenge them. Simplemente leyendo esto uno se pregunta, no se ha hecho esto ya? \u00a0\u00a0la respuesta es si. La diferencia aqu\u00ed (por lo que podido notar) es la forma en que se presenta esta informaci\u00f3n a nosotros, los Administradores de vSphere.<\/p>\n<p>CloudPhysics est\u00e1 usando Cards (Cartas) para mostrarnos estados ya definidos de nuestro entorno, por ejemplo: Cu\u00e1ntas VM necesitan update de VMtools? \u00a0There is a card for that!!<\/p>\n<p>Lo interesante de CloudPhysics, son los fundadores. Son ex-ingenieros de VMware que trabajaron en proyectos como Storage IO Control, Storage DRS y otras tecnolog\u00edas de vSphere que tanto nos gustan. Por el momento est\u00e1n en beta y espero que cuando lancen oficialmente la soluci\u00f3n recuerden proporcionar cuentas para LABs, se imaginan lo \u201ccool\u201d que ser\u00eda monitorear nuestro LAB de cualquier parte con un navegador web? \u00a0no tiene precio!.<\/p>\n<p>No esperes m\u00e1s y empieza a jugar con CloudPhysics, solo tienes que ir a su sitio web y registrarte para luego descargar un OVF o OVA como m\u00e1s te guste, esta es la VM que se despliega en vSphere y recolecta la informaci\u00f3n que luego se usa en el app de CloudPhisics.<\/p>\n<p>Por el momento solo esta soportado vSphere, no tienen soporte para Stand-alone ESXi.
