CoreConfig es el nombre de una recopilación de scripts que nos ayudaran para realizar la configuración de un Windows 2008 Server que fue instalado en modo Server Core, con esta utilidad podremos realizar cambios en el Firewall, Agregar la licensia, Usar Utilidades de DCpromo y otras mas que esta listadas en el sitio web en CodePlex.

Microsoft a publicar un competidor directo con ESXi ?
Al parecer si lo haran… en el blog oficial del equipo de virtualizacion de Microsoft postean la noticia.
MS Hyper-V Server: in 30 days for $0
The show begins in 10 hours, but the news it out:
* Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008, a new hypervisor-based server virtualization product (like ESXi), will be released within 30 days and be available at no cost via the Web
* Microsoft will demonstrate live migration feature of Windows Server 2008 R2. And the next version of Microsoft Hyper-V Server (the one after 2008) will have live migration capabilities.
* System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 will be released within 30 days [not a surprise], which will manage Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 or VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3
* Microsoft’s global server OEM partners … report that nearly 100% of their customers who order Windows Server 2008 with hardware are also choosing to have Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V included with their order.
* Dedicated virtualization lab established within the Microsoft Enterprise Engineering Center.

WPAD using DNS on Windows Server 2008
Maybe you like me, are one of those who use WAPD for auto configuration, i use it for auto configure the ISA Firewall Client so the computer knows what’s the ISA ip address, this work very nice and is working this way since two year here where i work, and we choose to install two new domain controllers with Win2k8 and change the DNS Servers in the DHCP configuration so the DNS for all our machines are now the two new Win2k8 and there the problem started, some users reported that the ISA firewall Client is showing a red sign…. bad.. the first thing that i do was check our ISA Server and fine that is working without any problem and after 5 minutes I found that WPAD wasn’t resolving to the isa server.
A quick Google search, found this [ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc441517(TechNet.10).aspx ] and everything is back to normal…… time to read more about new things on windows Server 2008.
